As a manager, you will inspire and be supportive of your organization, empowering an experienced management team of 4. The ideal candidate will be a combination of a strategist and a leader, able to steer the company to the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission and long-term goals. Good project management skills will also be essential since the Managing Director will be the owner of our local investment plan. The goal is to ensure the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.”

  • Excellent proficiency in English, understanding of Russian language would be a plus  
Your opportunity
As Managing Director HZPC Russia, your position can be divided into four areas:
 
Vision bringing:   
  • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain our goals
  • Provide strategic advice to the SBA Europe management so that they will have an accurate view of the market and the company’s future
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement of the business strategies by planning cost-effective operations and supporting our differentiation market development activities
Management & empowerment:
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of the management team members providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
  • Coach, support and develop the HZPC Russia workforce
Reporting: 
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities. Building trust is your ‘core competence’
  • Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments and other business ventures
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way in the company and that they are followed at all times
  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
Representation:
  • Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile.
  • As Statutory Director, you are the legal person representing the company in the country

Our company
HZPC is one of the world's largest trading companies in seed potatoes. The core activities of HZPC are breeding new potato varieties, growing seeds of those varieties and selling those seed potatoes via distributors or even sometimes directly to potato farmers.
The HZPC Group, with a turnover of around € 310 million, has subsidiaries in several European countries as well as some countries outside Europe. All companies within HZPC are working intensively together in order to obtain the maximum turnover and profit for the entire group. The marketing strategy is centrally driven per product sector group, though the operation is very much locally executed.

HZPC has a strong position in the Russian market. A growth strategy for HZPC Russia has been determined and we do see several opportunities to further expand our market share in Russia. Investing further in our production capacity is one of the options explored at this moment. The Director of HZPC Russia will have to monitor precisely his team working on this project to reach success.
For this organisation in Russia, based at St. Petersburg, with team members based in Moscow and Helsinki, HZPC is looking for a Managing Director.
